Auditions for A Streetcar Named Desire at Centrestage Theatre 2021

 Information:

Directed by Reg Williams

Centrestage Theatre is thrilled to be staging Tennessee Williams’ classic play ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’. A riveting and dark tale of fantasy versus reality, passion and the peril for women in a society that teaches them to depend on men. It tells the story of two sisters, Blanche and Stella, who are torn apart by the jealousy, mistrust and anger of Stanley. In spite of his at times raging temper, Stella is forced to choose between her life with him and trusting her fragile and disturbed sister.

This story was made famous in film with incredible performances by Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh, and was more recently performed at the National Theatre in London with Gillian Anderson in the role of Blanche.
All auditionees should prepare a modern appropriate monologue to be delivered using a Southern accent.

Auditions will be held at Centrestage Theatre - 60 Centreway Road, Orewa.

Sunday 20th June 10am-6pm
